The Nigerian music industry is fast growing and the artiste are earning almost as their colleagues in other countries. Here are some of the multimillionaires in the industry and the details of their wealth.

2face Idibia- taking stock of his assets, 2face’s worth would be nothing short of 200 million Naira. He has to his credit 2 platinum-selling albums, endorsement deals with Guinness Nigeria worth about N30 million, MTN Nigeria worth about N40million, and he was said to have gotten about N30million from the producers of Phat girls (Hollywood movie) for use of African queen as soundtrack. He is speculatively said to have sold marketing rights to his new album at N30million. He collects an average of N2.5Million per show and he once said he is set to recover all the wealth taken from Nigeria. He is presently the most exportable Nigerian artiste.

D banj- taking stock of his assets, Dbanj would worth nothing less than N180million. He made a whole

chunk of his money via endorsement deals. Gist has it that he recently sealed an endorsement deal with Glo which was considered the biggest deal in Nigeria. He had about a N30million deal with Virgin colours, about 25million with Virgin Nigeria, 20million deal with Nutricima and a distribution deal worth N100million with UAC. He charges over N2.5million per show and works really hard with producer Don Jazzy

Psquare- The duo would worth not less than N150million, they make the bulk of their money through sold out concerts all over Africa and beyond. They’ve sold close to 15 million copies of their albums since their debut. They charge an average of 2 million Naira per show. Their house in Omole estate gulped huge sums of money and they drive the latest state of the art automobiles.

Jimmy Jatt- He is the highest paid DJ in Nigeria, he charges about half a million Naira to play at regular events and 1million Naira for concerts. Up till date he is the only DJ with a multi-platinum selling Mix tape with about 50 of Nigerian finest artistes o n it. He is worth close to N100million.

Paul play-His latest album sold over 2 million copies, he owns a house in Nigeria and also in the UK. He is worth not less than N120million.

Tony Tetuila- His assets are estimated at about N80million. Most of his wealth accrues from performing at shows abroad and other non music ventures. His cordial relationship with the past Governor of Lagos state, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has also made him have a good share of government deals in music and performances. There is hardly any event in Lagos he does not perform at the dispensation.

KC Presh- It’s obvious that the duo make most of their money outside music. They make a good fortune from branding Star beer and they are rumoured to get contracts from state governments. They are assumed to worth not less than N70million.

Olu Maintain- Following the yahoozee blast, he was immediately launched into opulence, he sold well over 2million copies of the album. He drives a pimped to the teeth Chrysler worth N6m, Toyota Sequia jeep and owns a luxury home at Anthony. He is worth not less than N70M

9ice- currently the hottest in the industry, he charges an average of N1.5m a show, he recently moved to a duplex apartment in Anthony and his album has sold close to three million copies and still on high demand.. He recently got a Celtel deal to the UK to perform at the Nelson Mandela show which sources close to him say he was paid close to 30 million Pounds. Estimate of his current financial worth is in excess of N70M.

Ruggedman –Arguably the highest paid rapper in the country. He charges between N500000 and N1.5million per show. He has driven luxury cars like Mercedes Benz E class , Nissan Murano jeep and Touareg which he currently cruises around town with. He is estimatedly worth N50million.

REGGAE (Beenie man) STAR CALLS CHRIS BROWN AN IDIOT IN FRONT OF CROWD … TELLS RIHANNA SHE NEEDS A MAN LIKE HIM!!

April 28, 2009. Oh no he didn’t!!!! MediaTakeOut.com just got some interesting news. Our pals over at the website Islandista were at a reggae concert in Barbados this weekend. Apparently reggae susperstar Beenie man was performing – and Rihanna was in the audience.

And MediaTakeOut.com learned that during Beenie’s performance he called out Chris Brown – in front of nearly 10,000 fans. Here’s how Islandista is reporting it:

Beenie touched the stage at about 7:30 and gave a generally decent performance - certainly the crowd was with him.

Then … he start calling for Rihanna to “report back stage immediately”.

And then he start talking up a set of things about the infamous beating incident between her and Chris Brown, asking the crowd if they [thought] it was “an idiot thing that Chris did” while singing a very off-key version of the hook to ‘Umbrella’. You could hear a collective ‘ooooohhhh!’ as the crowd sucked in its breath when he said it.

For most that would be enough … but not for Beenie. Here’s what he did next:

Beenie kept calling for [Rihanna] and singing ‘Umbrella’ and lo and behold, she actually came up on the stage. Then he start singing his version of Umbrella , part of which went “I don’t have no fancy car/But [I’ll] never give you no scar”.

Trust me. I was shame for de girl. Everyone was shame because the crowd didn’t really hype up and carry on the way they had been earlier when he was just performing all his hits. I just wanted it to end.

This sounds painful … but it ain’t over yet:

But Beenie wasn’t done. He told her that Chris [will] get vexed when he sees the pictures of him (Beenie) and Rihanna hugging up on stage because he is the ‘girls dem suga’ and anything the sugar touches get sticky.

Mike Tyson Comments On Chris Brown: 'He's Just A Baby'

Few people can say they identify with what Chris Brown might be feeling in the wake of his alleged altercation with Rihanna, but Mike Tyson is one of them.

The former heavyweight champ — whose life is the subject of the new documentary "Tyson," set for release on Friday — has a history of legal trouble involving women. While he was married to actress Robin Givens in the late 1980s, their relationship was plagued with accusations of violence and spousal abuse against Tyson. And in the early '90s, Tyson was convicted of raping Desiree Washington and served three years in prison.

When asked about Brown by MTV News this week, Tyson said, "It's none of my business, but you know what I say about that? I understand the situation. I understand passion with young kids.

"My personal opinion about that is, he's just a baby," he continued, with a tone of empathy toward the 19-year-old Brown. "He's just a little baby that don't know how to handle his emotions when it comes to a woman. And he probably hears this and thinks, 'I know how to handle my emotions'; we all think we do. But the fact [is], you look at this person and you might be crazy in love, but we don't know how to handle those feelings."

While there are obviously many differences between his situation and Brown's, Tyson said he believes a different mentality is prevalent these days. "Now you're a fly guy and a cool guy, you have this pimp mentality. You have to be hard like that."

Tyson was also extremely contrite about his history of violence toward women. "You can't abuse them," he said. "It's really sick what you [can] do. She has a space in your heart and you believe you care about her more than anybody in the world.

"Do I think it's right to beat up a woman? No — hell no," he continued. "Have I hit a woman before? Hell yeah. Was I wrong? Hell yeah. I'm a product of that environment. Do I regret ever doing that? Hell yeah. Would I do it again? Never."

Rihanna is seeking the return of the nearly $1.4 million in jewelry she was wearing on February 7th, the night of her alleged physical encounter with then-boyfriend Chris Brown. According to E!, the Los Angeles Police Department took a pair of earrings and three rings as evidence, and now the four companies that loaned the “Umbrella” singer the jewelry for Grammy weekend want the pricey pieces back. E! reports that the bloodstained Gucci dress the singer was wearing was also taken into evidence.

Rihanna’s request for the returned jewelry will be on the docket in court on Wednesday, April 29th, when the trial against Chris Brown has its next preliminary hearing (Brown will not attend). Brown was charged with felony assault and making criminal threats following the altercation, which occurred after Clive Davis’ annual Grammy pre-party, the night before the music industry’s biggest event. At his arraignment earlier this month, Brown pleaded “not guilty” to both charges. If convicted, he faces up to nine years in prison. Brown’s lawyers, including famed attorney Mark Geragos, are reportedly working with Los Angeles district attorneys to hammer out a plea agreement before the case actually goes to trial.

Rihanna’s lawyer Donald Etra, told the BBC, “Apparently, initially, the police felt that it would be needed as evidence. Now the belief is that photographs would be more than sufficient.” Etra has said his client “wants this to be over quickly.”

April 15, 2009. The saga between Chris Brown and Rihanna may have taken a turn FOR THE WORSE!!! MediaTakeOut.com spoke with a person close to both young singers who claims that the two of them had a "big fight" over photos surfacing of Chris and his new rumored girlfriend Natalie Mejia.

According to our insider, Rihanna saw photos online of Chris and Natalie coming out of the tattoo parlour and she blew up. The insider explained to MediaTakeOut.com, "While Chris and Rihanna weren't together [for the last few weeks], they promised each other that they wouldn't date anyone else."

And when Rihanna saw the pics, she knew that Chris was back to his old ways. Our tipster continued, "Chris tried to explain himself, but Rihanna wasn't trying to hear it. There was a lot of arguing, and [Rihanna] ended things for good."

Chris Brown pleads innocent to assault on gf Rihana

LOS ANGELES, April 6 (UPI) -- Singer Chris Brown, who is accused of beating his pop star girlfriend Rihanna, pleaded innocent to assault charges in a Los Angeles court Monday.
Brown, 19, was arrested Feb. 8 after he allegedly left Rihanna, 21, bloody and bruised during a heated argument in a car.
Usmagazine.com said Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, entered not guilty pleas at Brown's arraignment on felony charges of assault and making criminal threats.
Brown is due back in court April 29.
Rihanna reportedly was in her native Barbados Monday. Her attorney, Donald Etra, has said the singer will testify against Brown if required to do so by law.
The couple reconciled shortly after the alleged incident. However, they reportedly have been spending time apart in recent weeks.
